9 Best Restaurants in Bengaluru India: Honest Reviews

Honest Reviews of 9 Restaurants in Bengaluru, India (Including Failed Menu Items)

I’m going to organize a list of restaurants in Bengaluru, India. This is for the sake of someone in the future who might, by chance, end up visiting Bengaluru. I want to introduce the restaurants that I explored in advance. First of all, one thing you should know beforehand is that Indian food is generally salty.

Well… everything is salty. Best Restaurants in Bengaluru Very salty.

It might never happen, but I wonder if anyone would deliberately travel all the way to India just to visit a place called Bengaluru… If you spend about a week exploring restaurants in Bengaluru, there really isn’t much left to see. In other words… after about a week, you’ll start running out of restaurants to try.

The priorities we used when choosing restaurants were:

  1. Is the place clean?

  2. Is the food tasty?

Most of our decisions were based on Google Maps ratings.

Criteria for Choosing Restaurants in Bengaluru (Based on Actual Visits)

✔ Is the restaurant clean?
✔ Google Maps rating 4.0 or higher
✔ Are there many reviews from foreign visitors?
✔ Are the spices not too overwhelming?

Truffles

First of all, it’s inexpensive, and the Aglio e Olio pasta is especially delicious.

The other dishes are also moderately salty and quite tasty. The mojito is good too, but when ordering, you should ask them to remove the ice. (You have to be careful with water in India.)

TOSCANO (Located on the 3rd floor of Nexus Mall)

This is a steakhouse.

They sell wine and beer, and the wine is quite affordable. If you visit, I recommend having a glass. We drank a French rosé wine, which was sweet and delicious.

The Aglio e Olio here isn’t quite as good as the one at Truffles, but the seafood Aglio e Olio was still tasty enough that you keep reaching for it. The steak doesn’t melt in your mouth exactly, but you might think, “At this price, it tastes this good?” It’s definitely worth trying. The risotto with truffle oil aroma served with the steak was the most delicious for me.

Bob’s Bar

This is a restaurant that sells alcohol, but don’t order the main dishes. Instead, order snacks like potato chips or shrimp chips.

We ordered curry… and it was not good. The butter chicken curry I love was nowhere to be found; instead, a very salty curry filled with strong spices appeared. The beer comes in bottles, and they open it immediately so you can drink it cold right away.

It’s worth visiting once… but the place is quite cramped and noisy.

Ironhill Bengaluru

We visited this place during an LG internship team dinner. It’s quite far from Christ University, where our accommodation was located.

Anyway, this place is huge and very upscale. They sell their own craft beer, and not only is the beer good, but the side dishes are all delicious. Especially the bacon-wrapped shrimp… that was amazing. When eaten with the wasabi mayo sauce, it makes you want to order it again.

Punjab Grill

The Dongseong-ro of Bengaluru restaurants?!, MG Road.

We took a rickshaw to a place called MG Road. Since it’s a busy district, there were many shopping spots and the streets were very clean. Inside one of the malls there, we went to a curry restaurant.

This place was the most delicious for me.

The curry taste I know.

It tasted exactly like the curry I used to eat in Korea. There was no overwhelming spice flavor, and it wasn’t too salty. I want to go there again… haha.

Biergarten Brewery & Kitchen

We visited this place three times. They sell alcohol and the food was consistently good.

Well… we ordered something like butter chicken curry fried rice, and that was a complete failure. I took one bite and stopped eating it. Aside from that, the pasta was good, and most importantly, the pizza here is really delicious.

The beer was generally good, but one of the smoked beers had such a strong woody aroma that it didn’t taste good.

Other ale beers seemed fine.

The Himalayan Korean Restaurant

This is a Korean restaurant. It’s not run by Koreans, but they did a fairly good job capturing Korean flavors.

The tteokbokki was really not good, and I still can’t forget the visual and taste of the ramen that looked like Han River instant ramen. Aside from that, the kimchi fried rice tasted like it was actually brought from Korea.

Oh! And the kimchi here is good. It’s not imitation kimchi — it’s real kimchi. If you’re looking for a Korean restaurant, it might be worth visiting.

Garden Asia Restaurant

This restaurant is run by a Tibetan owner, and we went there to eat hot pot.

Hot pot… honestly, I went in with zero expectations, but I was impressed because it tasted exactly like the hot pot I know. It had a strong mala flavor, and the vegetables and meat were quite fresh.

Noodle’s Bar (Located inside Phoenix Mall)

This place is far enough that you need to take Uber. Since it’s quite far, I recommend it only if you happen to visit Phoenix Mall.

We ordered kimchi ramen with extra shrimp, and… wow… it was extremely salty but delicious. The shrimp had a charcoal-grilled aroma, and I literally clapped the moment I tasted it.

It was so good that I’d want to go there again.
